Vintage House Foundation X Return To The Wild Side
@ Sedition London
|217 City Road EC1V 1JN|
Two classic London nights return for a special party on Saturday September 29th. In one room Vintage House Foundation is back digging deep for some of house music's finest tracks from the 80's, 90's or 00's. So many years of house music history in the dj booth with Colin Dale, Stuart Patterson, Dom Moir and Damian Charles choosing some of their fave house from back in the day. In the back room Kev Beadle and Patrick Forge get together again for ‘A Return To The Wild Side’. The original night ‘Walk On The Wild Side’ was their weekly Friday night residency alongside Fitzroy Da Buzzboy and took place at the intimate Cask & Glass in Orchard Street (behind Selfridges) back in the early 90’s when proper clubbing in London’s West End was still a thing. As expected the music was quality all the way, playing everything from what was then newly re-discovered two-step to latin, afrobeat, jazz, funk, right through to jazz inspired hip hop and UK street soul. The night became so popular that a move to a bigger venue was needed, and so with Gilles Peterson, Patrick and Kev went on to start the legendary weekly Friday night called ‘The Fez’ in the basement of the Great Western Hotel in Paddington. Apart from a recent session a few years back at Dingwalls, Kev and Patrick have not really played together since those days, so this is going to be a special reunion with two of the scene’s most respected selectors. Advance tickets essential for this special night.
